Meet Je’Freshia L. Bell, Founding Attorney

e’Freshia Bell is a Criminal/Family Law attorney representing people of the Greater Houston area and surrounding counties, including Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Galveston, Brazoria, and Jefferson County that you can trust and place your confidence in. She is a proud alumnus of Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She loves being a part of the Houston community and serving families that are in the community. She can advise you on any Texas specifics and make sure that you understand how the local laws work.

After becoming a licensed attorney, Je’Freshia worked for the Fort Bend District Attorney’s Office as a Prosecutor and then eased her way into the practice of Family Law. While practicing in these areas, she discovered her passion and patience for working with individuals during rough and difficult times.

She is a devoted advocate for her clients and understands the emotions and turmoil that accompany all legal matters. She is able to walk her clients through not only the intricate legalities of the process but also the emotional aspects of the cases. Je’Freshia makes it her #1 priority to provide effective and aggressive representation to her clients. In her spare time, Je’Freshia serves as a mentor for Big Brother Big Sisters of America and is also active in many community organizations. She is also very passionate about criminal justice reform and the advancement of women.

Kyianna Sykes, Associate Attorney

yianna Sykes is a dedicated attorney with a strong foundation in Criminal Law and a growing practice in Family Law and Personal Injury. A 2024 graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Kyianna has already gained valuable experience through her involvement in mediations, depositions, and trial preparation—showcasing her strengths in litigation and client advocacy.

Kyianna is committed to providing legal representation that is both professional and compassionate. She approaches every matter with the goal of resolving disputes amicably when possible, while remaining fully prepared to vigorously protect her clients’ interests in court when necessary. She understands that legal disputes are often some of the most challenging times in her clients’ lives, and she navigates each case with empathy and respect.

What sets Kyianna apart is her proactive approach to communication. She remains in consistent contact with her clients to clearly define goals and develop a strategic game plan—ensuring cases stay on track and are thoroughly prepared for hearings, negotiations, and trial. Kyianna takes pride in being diligent, skilled, and prepared, and she is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for those she serves.

Taylor Williams, Paralegal

aylor Williams is a highly experienced paralegal and has been an invaluable member of our team since joining The Law Office of J. L. Bell. Her deep knowledge of the legal field and unwavering dedication ensure that every case—no matter how complex—is handled with efficiency, promptness, and the utmost professionalism.

Taylor plays a vital role in helping clients navigate the often-complicated processes of divorce, custody disputes, adoptions, and more. But her contributions extend far beyond legal support—her empathy and consistent client care provide a sense of reassurance and stability to those we serve. Taylor is truly a cornerstone of our commitment to combining legal excellence with compassionate service.

Currently working toward her bachelor’s degree with plans to attend law school, Taylor has already shown the focus, knowledge, and determination of a future attorney. Her dedication shines through in every aspect of her work, and many of our clients often say it feels like she’s already part of the attorney team.
